Piping Field Engineer – Edmonton Area

We are currently searching for a Piping Field Engineer for work in the Oil and Gas industry. The successful candidate is truly comfortable being on the front lines interfacing with clients while maintaining the interest of the company.
Primary Skills Required:
- Respond to construction contractors Request for Information (RFI);
- ensure construction contractor adheres to engineering issued drawings, documents, specifications, codes and standards;
- support the client in all aspects including cost controls, planning, scheduling and estimating;
- become thoroughly knowledgeable with the project's contract documents, drawings, specifications and scope of work;
- assist in the development of the project master schedule with input from other project managers and the client;
- prepare and transmit submittals (drawings, materials, vendors) to design engineers and construction contractor;
- monitor receiving, warehousing functions and material control;
- field tracking change orders as well as change management procedures;
perform any other job related duty as requested;
- provide leadership in safety and quality performance and ensure due diligence in client and regulatory compliance;
- reporting to Project Managers divisional concerns, issues and performance of the project;
communication with the customer/contractor during project executions; and
- witness NDE testing.
Qualifications:
- Minimum five (5) years experience as a Piping Field Engineer/Technologist is required;
experience in Module Fabrication and Site Installation;
- considerable knowledge of industry-accepted standards, guidelines, procedures and practices;
- knowledge of Project Execution activities such as planning, project controls, scheduling and costing;
H2S and WHMIS are required;
- experience with Navisworks or Smart Plant review is an asset;
- sound problem solving and decision making skills;
- strong organizational, documentation and report writing skills;
- ability to orchestrate multiple tasks within given timeframes; and
- experience in Western Canada will be considered first.
This opportunity is based out of the Edmonton area and is a short term assignment with the potential for an extension.

- H2S and WHMIS is required;
- experience with Navisworks or Smart Plant review is an asset;

- must have a valid driver’s license; and

Field Cost Engineer (Project Controls) - Edmonton Area

We are currently searching for a Field Cost Engineer for work with our Oil and Gas client in the Edmonton area (Nisku & Redwater). Approximately one (1) year in length starting immediately. Contractors welcome. The successful candidates are truly comfortable being on the front lines interfacing with clients while maintaining the interest of the company.
The Field Cost Engineer will report to Exergy's Construction Manager at site and work within the project controls team to manage the cost control activities for the construction phase. The position is responsible for maintaining cost control systems and data for the project relating to Value of Work Done (VOWD), project schedule, estimates, budgets, payment schedules, risk management reports, forecasts, earned value analysis and documentation for internal and external audits.
Primary Skills Required:
- Establish and maintain cost data input to an integrated project cost and schedule system;
- participate in reviewing/upgrading contractor's cost control organization and procedures;
- assure accuracy and timeliness of data collection for cost measurement;
- appraise performance of contractor's cost control personnel;
- interface with the contractor's cost specialists to ensure that cost data is accurate and correctly reflected in contractor's reporting;
- review and process invoices;
- provide reporting for overall project costs and cash flows including forecast final cost;
- conduct cost variance analysis for project management reports;
- develop and report budgets and cash flows including trends and variance to the project plan;
- provide oversight for contractor's trend and scope management processes;
- develop owner's trends; and
- implement project documentation and data preservation routines.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of five (5) years of project cost controls experience on large projects or multiple small projects in refinery or petrochemical, with assignments of increasing responsibility, complexity and scope;
- willing to work at both the fabrication module yard and at the project site;
- technical competency in the field of project cost control;
- BS Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent experience;
- knowledge of project controls, cost engineering, Value of Work Done (VOWD), forecasting, estimating, risk analysis, etc.
- familiar with the use of industry computer software systems used for project cost management;
- strong organizational, documentation and report writing skills;
- ability to orchestrate multiple tasks within given timeframes;
- experience in Western Canada will be considered first; and
- ability to develop reports for and presentations to management.

Qualifications:
- Chemical or mechanical engineering degree with 10+ years of related experience;
- P. Eng registered with APEGGA or eligible for membership;
- demonstrate a strong commitment to Environment, Health & Safety;
- expertise in the following processes: separation, oil treating, dehydration, refrigeration, amine systems, deep-cut processes, flare and utility systems;
- proficient in simulation software e.g. HYSYS, PROMAX, pipe hydraulics;

We are currently searching for a Senior Document Management Specialist for work in Oil and Gas. The role of the Senior Document Management Specialist will be the prime client interface. As the Senior talent, this person succinctly and clearly identifies clients needs and provides solid design processes to support them. It will include system setup, implementation of processes and procedures and assigning resources. The Senior Document Management Specialist will also be accountable for timely completion of deliverables and providing a superior quality service.
Initially the successful candidate will be given guidance and mentorship to the overall concepts and philosophies that we provide as services to our clients, but will move on to incorporate these principles into his/her solutions to the everyday challenges that will be faced. He/she will also be given the tools that are essential to execute the work, and will be required, with final approval of the Manager, to adapt the principles to the specific needs of the client.
Overall quality with respect to procedures, assigned resources, accuracy, timelines and finished product will be of paramount importance, and the Specialist must demonstrate a proactive approach to all of these aspects. A passionate desire to provide solutions based on best practices coupled with strong holistic analytical abilities and sound experience will make for an ideal candidate.

You will be given mentorship and guidance along with written procedures and work instructions to allow you to work independently. You must be willing to assist in any capacity, including document scanning, data entry, transmittal creation, filing, information transmission, compiling data manuals and archiving.
Primary Skills Required:
- Excellent verbal and written communication and comprehension skills;
- in-depth knowledge of MS Word and Excel;
- ability to learn and apply processes and procedures;
- requires high level of attention to detail with accurate work ethic;
